About TED Events

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas worth sharing. The TED concept began as a conference in 1984 with the intention of bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Since then TED’s scope has broadened. The two annual TED conferences, in Long Beach/Palm Springs and Edinburgh, Scotland, bring together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, with the challenge of delivering the most compelling talk in 18 minutes or less. The best talks and performances from TED and TEDx partners, like TEDx UniversityofNevada are available for instant, free viewing at TED.com.

About TEDx Events

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The program is designed to afford communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where “x” denotes an independently organized TED event.

TEDx events frequently screen video of TED Talks or offer a combination of live presenters and TED Talk videos to spark deep conversation and build connections. TEDx Events are typically planned independently on a local, community basis and TEDx UniversityofNevada is no different.
