What To Expect When You Attend This Year’s TEDx Event
Parking will be a challenge this year due to multiple events at The Reno Sparks Convention Center, so plan to arrive early. We will open doors to the event at 8 am. It’s general admission seating so if you want a front row seat make sure to arrive early. Opening remarks by University President Marc Johnson and Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve start promptly at 8:45 am. The first session starts at 9 am with a talk by Patrick Lencioni and closes with a performance by Reno locals Afsaneh & NAHTE.
We have a 20-minute break following the first session with refreshments provided and you will be able to purchase books by some of our speakers in our bookstore area. Take your picture in front of our 9ft tall red X or neon sign. Visit the displays in our lobby provided by Greater Nevada Credit Union, Renown Health, UNR College of Business, JamPro Music Factory, Whole Foods Market, ASUN, zulily, and RSCVA. Purchase a commemorative shirt of the event from Custom Ink.
The second session opens with a dynamic talk from Ondra L. Berry and closes with a performance by Mackenzie Nicole.
We then take a 70-minute break for lunch. Grab a free box lunch, visit our lobby displays, purchase one of the books from our authors, meet new people and discuss the ideas from the morning sessions.
The third and final session opens with a talk from TMCC President Karin Hilgersom. After talks by six more speakers, comedian Bengt Washburn will close the show and have the last laugh.
Immediately following the final speaker, we will convene for an after party in the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Whole Foods Market Reno will cater food and drinks will be available for purchase.
