Of the many Reno events held each year, TEDxUniversityofNevada is one of the most exciting. This January, TEDxUniversityofNevada is back with our own independently organized TEDx event for TED-like talks. For 2018, our TEDx Speakers are more compelling than ever and we are excited to announce our event partnership with the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA). After weighing venue options, we now feel more capable than ever of delivering a quality experience. TEDx speakers, participants and guests: get ready – this is one Reno event you won’t want to miss.
For our Reno event we prioritized venue choice. Our experience back in 2016 left us feeling that our venue was a little too small, while in 2017 our venue was a little too big. The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) is the go-to for hosting Reno events and when they learned of our problem they offered to help. The RSCVA suggested we hold our 2018 TEDx event in The Reno Sparks Convention Center (RSCC) ballroom. The result: the perfect venue size – not too big, not too small.
The flexible space of the RSCC ballroom creates a dynamic and unique space for our speakers and audience, but it also gives our technical support partners the opportunity to go above and beyond. This year, JamPro Music Factory has total control over sound and lighting. This means our speakers and performers will sound and look better than ever. JamPro’s attention to detail in conjunction with the talented Tyler Bourns of Bourns Productions will result in some of the highest quality TEDx videos ever produced.
Venue and our technical capabilities were top priority, but we haven’t neglected decoration and design either. This year, Red Carpet Events and Design is lending their knowledge and expertise to our stage design. Expect a lavish visual experience that will also feature impressive artworks by Marcio Decker. The Brazilian born, Decker lends his own visual inspiration through abstract geometric works.
