TEDxUniversityofNevada 2019 Student Speaker Competition Is Accepting Applications!

Road to TEDXAre you a student or do you know a student in the Reno/Carson/Tahoe area? Do you have a big idea? Do you believe that your big idea is worth spreading?

If you or someone you know, would answer is yes to all of these questions, I have an opportunity for you. It’s called the Road to TEDx and it is taking place from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Joe Crowley Student Union Theatre at the University of Nevada Reno.

The Road to TEDx is a student speaker competition for students who have a “big idea worth spreading.” Members of The Business Student Council are looking for passionate students to present their ideas in a dynamic way. First, second, and third place winners of the competition will receive a prize for competing. The first place winner of the Road to TEDx will also be invited to speak at TEDxUniversityofNevada. This year, TEDxUniversityofNevada will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Every fall, the University’s College of Business, Business Student Council, puts on a Business Week. The purpose of the week is to provide opportunities to engage business-minded students and help them get better in touch with businesses in the Reno area. The week is full of  events that include the Kick off BBQ, a Club Fair, One Million Cups, a company tour, Biztalk Blender and the Road to TEDx.

Some past Road to TEDx winners include Joe Sabini, Ashley Evokimo, Shane Wickes and Juan Lopez.

If you are still reading this and simultaneously thinking of your big idea, I encourage you to apply to the Road to TEDx student speaker competition. Or maybe, you know a student who has a big idea? Encourage them to apply to the Road to TEDx student speaker competition.

Any student in the Reno/Carson/Tahoe area can apply through this link whether they are in high school or attend a Nevada higher education institution.
