TEDxUniversityofNevada returns to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center on February 29, 2020. Our call for idea proposals is open now until August 5, 2019. Although our call is open until August 5, we evaluate proposals as we receive them so submit your proposal early!
It’s important to understand that TEDx is an idea forum, not a speaker forum. We are looking for great ideas, not great speakers. Our goal is to be informational, rather than motivational. We want to record talks here in Reno that will influence people all over the world, for years to come, about ideas that matter.
The best TEDx speakers serve an idea, not themselves. We are especially interested in technology or design ideas, but any unique idea will receive serious consideration.
We expect to receive a lot of proposals, so getting selected is a competitive process. Don’t worry about the theme – we are looking for the best 18 ideas we can find and we will let the theme emerge from the selected ideas.
We like shorter talks of 7-12 minutes. If you think you need more than 15 minutes to deliver your idea, our event is probably not a good fit for your talk. We have a mandatory preparation process for all selected speakers, so if you are not willing to be coached, then our event is probably not a good fit for you.
Do you have a unique idea that really matters to people all over the world? Review the information at this page, then scroll down to the bottom where you will find the link to “submit an application”!
